Art Spaces, Inc.--Wabash Valley Outdoor Sculpture Collection and Our Green Valley Alliance for Sustainability will continue Art and River Chatter,  a series of informal conversations about public art and environmental issues related to the Wabash River, in honor of 2013 Year of the River.  People of all ages are invited to chat about art and the river, and get to know other people through lively discussion.  Two presenters kick off each evening with images and ideas to get the conversation started.  Beverages and food are available for purchase from the restaurant menu.  The location is Logan's Rib Eye,100 South Fruitridge Avenue in Terre Haute, beginning at 5:15 pm.  Dates and Discussion Topics include:

What does art have to do with rivers? Part III - Across the ages artists have found inspiration from the worlds waterways.  Take a trip through a world of painting and sculpture as we explore imagery from historical works and jump into the present, with what artists are doing today.  Presenters:  Marianne Richter (Swope Art Museum), Michael Tingley (Artist)

Art Spaces, Inc. is a not-for-profit organization that has helped to enliven the downtown and strengthen the economy of the Wabash Valley through placing public outdoor sculpture in Terre Haute and the surrounding region of the Wabash Valley.  The collection now numbers thirteen with two more projects underway.  Our Green Valley Alliance for Sustainability is a not-for-profit organization composed of people, institutions, and organizations in the Wabash Valley working together to enact Earth-friendly, sustainable practices to improve personal and public health, community vitality, economic development, and the environment.
